About Me
A lifetime of telling stories. A camera always nearby.
I’m Phil Nickinson — a Pensacola native who’s spent his entire adult life in journalism and media, starting at the Pensacola News Journal in 1998 before moving into digital media in 2009. I’ve written, edited, filmed, and photographed my way through a career that’s taken me from a local newsroom to travling the world covering the biggest tech companies.
Photography has been the constant thread. Whether I’m on the sidelines at a youth soccer match, on the road somewhere new, or trying to get a good corporate headshot that doesn’t look like a corporate headshot — I’m drawn to the candid, the honest, and the in-between moments that tell the real story.
